John P. Novatny founded Novatny Electric in 1920. Novatny was later Incorporated on July 1, 1946. This makes Novatny one of the longest operated companies in Akron today.

The company was family run until 1994 when it was sold to Donald Bourn, Don owned the company for 13 years, helping us grow to where we are now. Don officially retired in 2007, making the new owners Mark Trudics and Mike Panaciulli. Mark and Mike have 48 years combined experience.
